Approaches and Techniques
Evidence Based therapeutic models and techniques are integrated throughout Deborah’s work. She tailors therapy to meet each client’s unique presentation and needs. This multi-modal approach serves to address acute issues as well as more deeply rooted emotional suffering. Deborah uses Psychodynamic Therapy as the foundation of her work when exploring the roots of emotional pain and trauma. Deborah engages this model in order to enhance her client’s understanding of the self. Inherent to this proven model is the therapeutic rapport, built between client and therapist, as the agent of change through self-reflection and gained insight. These are the cornerstones of self-knowledge and lasting change. Research solidly supports that clients who engage in Psychodynamic therapy continue to experience improvement in their emotional health, long after therapy ends.
Deborah may utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy when a client is experiencing acute symptoms of anxiety or panic. This model can help the client become more aware of thoughts and feelings that precipitate behavior or symptoms, bringing relief.
Each theoretical model and technique has a place and is strategically woven into the fabric of Deborah’s work.
I currently provide in person as well as secure video telehealth sessions.
